Welcome to the the UCSF Surgical and Critical Care Nurse Practitioner Fellowship Website

The UCSF Surgical and Critical Care Nurse Practitioner Fellowship is a joint non-accredited program of the Departments of Surgery and Anesthesia, and UCSF Medical Center. Our fellowship program is designed to expand upon the knowledge and skills acquired during graduate nursing training. It prepares licensed and certified AG-ACNPs to provide care to adults in critical care and surgical settings through focused clinical rotations. This program emphasizes the development of advanced assessment, planning, negotiation and collaboration skills. UCSF has been instrumental in expanding the roles and responsibilities of nurse practitioners in these specialized areas of clinical practice. The fellowship offers a rich and varied didactic experience that includes rotations on adult inpatient services for: Critical Care Medicine, Liver Transplant, Kidney Transplant, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, Interventional Radiology, and Trauma Surgery, fortified by critical care skills workshops and quality improvement projects.

UCSF is a recognized world leader in developing innovative solutions to health care delivery problems. The fellowship program leverages the resources within the UCSF system to prepare novice AG-ACNPs to excel in a tertiary medical center.
